The first roundup of StrummerJam 2018 is just in, coming from Jeffrey Glover and the crew at The Breakwall, Conneaut, Ohio.
StrummerJam 2018 @ The Breakwall Bbq was one for the books. A beautiful day in the 440 on the shore of Lake Erie provided the perfect setting for an extraordinary day of rock & roll, barbeque and selfless acts of kindness and giving.
Michael Morgan & Gabe Cellini, owners of the Breakwall BBQ once again donated 50% of their total sales for the day and were made proud as their incredible staff worked tirelessly in the blazing heat all day long.
The crowd also generously contributed directly to the cause in the donation bin at the foot of the rockin stage, provided for the second year in a row by Mr David Levesque. Mark Morris of Morris Sound & Lighting also returned this year providing sound for all the acts as manned masterfully by Matt Copeland.
This year The Breakwall chose to support the Northwestern High School Guitar & Strings Club whose advisor, Jay Baumgardner, is a valued member of The Breakwall family. The warm and supportive crowd in attendance was treated to a full day of diverse and tremendous music by Mala Sangre, JC Nickles & Brother Bochi, The Boomshakalakas, Jay B & The Vigils, the NHS Guitar & Strings Club, the Paolello & Gone Trio, Mediocre at Best & Rosegun Vibe from Rock School Erie, Fred Oakman and Jeffrey Glover.
In the end, StrummerJam 2018 @ The Breakwall BBQ were able to raise an amazing $4,400 (£3,398 GBP) - total raised for StrummerJam 2018
We want to thank each and everyone at The Breakwall for rocking locally, acting globally. Getting into the spirit of StrummerJam to celebrate the life, music & memory of Joe Strummer and for raising funds for their local music non-profit.
